The Africa Southeast Asia Chamber of Commerce (ASEACC), headquartered in Singapore, proudly celebrated its 10th anniversary by organizing its Annual Assemblies followed by a cocktail and gala dinner. The event was notably honored by the presence of Singapore's Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Alvin Tan, who encouraged African, Singaporean, and Southeast Asian businesses to enhance their partnerships. ASEACC brought together its prestigious existing members and newcomers, as well as prominent leaders from both the public and private sectors.

Its Annual Assemblies were held alongside the Africa Singapore Business Forum, which gathered over 500 participants.

The Annual Assemblies served as a significant meeting for members to discuss various strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening the chamber's activities.

Topics included:

  • Investment opportunities in Africa and Asia, as well as cross-member investments;

  • Launching an Africa-Southeast Asia investment fund;

  • Geographical expansion of the chamber to include other Southeast Asian and African countries;

  • Strengthening the diversity of the chamber's areas of operation.

 

During the Annual Assemblies, founding members unanimously voted to welcome new members, thereby expanding the chamber's scope and influence. A new Vice-President was appointed, Mr. Venkataramani Srivathsan, CEO & Managing Director, Africa and Middle East, at Olam Group.
